These kalmas, including 3 kalma have been formulated and compiled to facilitate easy memorizing and learning of basic Islamic Aqeedah (belief). The significance of 3rd kalma

Third kalimah acknowledges the attributes of Allah

Acknowledging the greatness and all attributes of Allah is at the heart of Islamic belief and compulsory for all Muslims. Third kalimah is the articulated supplication to easily memorize and recite the attributes of Allah.

3 kalima cause relief

We have burdened ourselves with worldly desires and futile emotions. As a result, sorrows, anxiety, depression, and bad intentions reign in our being. The only way to get rid of these mortal issues is to submit ourselves to Allah’s will, accepting that He is the powerful. When we recite 3 kalima, we confess the greatness of Allah and our insignificance and this concept relieves us from hollow and trivial efforts and desires.

Third Kalima tamjeed plants a tree in paradise

In Islam, every dua, supplication, and prayer has a reward in this word and afterworld (akhirah). Third Kalima Tamjeed possesses a unique reward in Akhirah. In a Hadith, (Ibn Majah 3807), Hazrat Abu Hurairah (R.A) narrates that;

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed by him while he was planting a plant. The Messenger of Allah(SAW) said, “O Abu Hurayrah what are you planting?” I said: A plant for me.” He said: Would you like me to tell of a plant better than this?” I said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah.” He (SAW) said, “Say: سُبْحَانَ اللّٰہِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰہِ وَ لَآ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ وَ اللّٰہُ اَکْبَرُ  for each one a tree will be planted for you in Paradise.”

 3rd kalimah in the Light of Hadiths

The importance and worth of the 3rd Kalimah is evident from many Hadiths. In a Hadith (Sunan An-Nasa’i 924), Ibn Abi Awfa narrates that:

“A man came to the Prophet (SAW) and said: I cannot learn anything of the Quran; teach me something that I can say instead of reciting the Quran.’ He said: say;

“Glory be to Allah, praise be to Allah, there is none worthy of worship except Allah, Allah is Most Great, and there is no power and no strength except with Allah the Exalted and Magnificent .”

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) says; Allah is near and He is receptive of the prayers and that reciting La Hawla wa laa quwwata illa billah (لَاْ حَوُلَ وَلَا قُوَّۃَ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ ) is one of the treasures of paradise. (Bukhari 7386)

The importance and value of the 3rd kalimah are evident from this Hadith. It is beneficial for us to embrace the benefits of 3 kalimah in our daily lives by reciting it.

Reciting the third kalma

When and where to recite the third kalma

In Islamic theology, remembering Allah and doing Dhikr (zikr) is not a time bond. Duas and supplications can be recited anytime and at any place. Incorporating the third kalma in our daily lives instills in us the true meaning of worship and allows us to thank Allah for all his blessings. Therefore, kalma tamjeed should be recited every day and every time. This kalma is recited when something occurs unexpectedly such as when we encounter a beautiful place or a majestic mountain that we have never seen. Everything in this universe reminds us of the attributes of Allah. Muslims promptly recite kalima tamjeed whenever they see the signs of the Greatness, glory, and Powers of Allah. This Kalima is also offered in times of distress, calamity, and difficulty, serving as a source of calm and solace and a reminder of Allah’s power to mitigate difficulties.

How many times a day 3 kalimah should be recited

Allah has infinite blessings on us so His remembrance (zikr) should be. We should not be close-fisted about reciting supplications and duas. 3 Kalimah has great virtue in all supplications. Therefore, it should be prayed on a priority basis. Tasbih Fatimah is recited after every compulsory prayer. In a Hadith (Abu Dawud, 1297), the Prophet (SAW) guides His uncle Al-Abbas ibn Abdul Muttalib to offer Salah Tasbih, in which 3 kalimah is repeated 300 times. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said; “If you can observe it once a day, do so; if not, then once a week; if not, then once a month; if not, then once a year; if not, then at least once in your lifetime.”

Conclusion

Kalima 3rd is the articulation of all the divine attributes of Allah. The 3rd and 4th kalma reinforce the concept of Tawheed and the uniqueness of Allah in His Lordship, Worship, and Might. Muslims need to memorize third kalima in arabic and understand the meaning of 3rd kalima in English.
