وَ نُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ وَّ رَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَۙ
“And We send down of the Qur’an that which is healing and mercy for the believers”. (17:82)

یٰۤاَیُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَآءَتْكُمْ مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّنْ رَّبِّكُمْ وَ شِفَآءٌ لِّمَا فِی الصُّدُوْرِۙ۬-وَ هُدًى وَّ رَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِیْنَ
“Men! Now there has come to you an exhortation from your Lord, a healing for the ailments of the hearts, and a guidance and mercy for those who believe.”(10:57)
Quranic Prayers For Healing– Divine Healing Verses

Prayer For Healing Body

رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَسَّنِىَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ ٱلرَّٰحِمِينَ
“Here I am, afflicted by pain and You are the most merciful of all the merciful.”(21:83)
Prayer For Quick Recovery

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
And when I become sick, He heals me,(26:80)
Prayer For Serious Illness

Hazrat Ayesha R.A. narrates that whenever Allah's Messenger (PBUH) became sick, he would recite Mu'awwidhat (Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An- Nas) and then blow his breath over his body. When he became seriously ill, I used to recite (these two Suras) and rub his hands over his body hoping for its blessings.
قُلْ اَعُوْذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ(1) مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ(2) وَ مِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَبَ(3) وَ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّفّٰثٰتِ فِی الْعُقَدِ(4) وَ مِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ(5)
Say, “I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind,the King of mankind,the God of mankind,from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws (when Allah’s name is pronounced),the one who whispers in the hearts of people,whether from among the Jinn or Mankind.(113:1-5)
Prayer For Good Health
Islam encourages believers to take care of health and seek prayer for good health and the Holy Prophet Saw has urged for healthy activities and exercises. Along with care it is important to utter good health prayer and ask Allah for a healthy life. There is a Quranic prayer for health and wellness, urging the Lord to give good health in this world and good life in the hereafter.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Oh Allah! Our Lord and Sustainer! Grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the Fire of Hell.” (2:201)
A Prayer Of Encouragement For Strength And Courage During Illness

وَ لَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَیْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوْفِ وَ الْجُوْعِ وَ نَقْصٍ مِّنَ الْاَمْوَالِ وَ الْاَنْفُسِ وَ الثَّمَرٰتِؕ-وَ بَشِّرِ الصّٰبِرِیْنَ(155) الَّذِیْنَ اِذَاۤ اَصَابَتْهُمْ مُّصِیْبَةٌۙ-قَالُوْۤا اِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِلَیْهِ رٰجِعُوْنَ(156)
“Surely We will test you with a bit of fear and hunger, and loss in wealth and lives and fruits, and give good tidings to the patient. who, when a suffering visits them, say: “We certainly belong to Allah, and to Him we are bound to return.” 92:155-56)
Prayers For Healing In Hadith And Sunnah
The life of the Holy Prophet SAW is a role model for the entire humanity not only in the religious and spiritual realm, but it also guides us about health and healing from physical suffering and pains. The Messenger of Allah has taught several Prayers for healing.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, "There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment.There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment." (Sahih al-Bukhari 5678)
Prayer For The Sick
Humans suffer from different diseases. We usually turn to doctors and medicines when we get sick. The Holy Prophet SAW has taught curing and healing Prayer for the sick. If we utter this dua and pray for the sick, he will surely recover from suffering. Ibn Abbas (R.A) reports that the Prophet (PBUH) said, "He who visits a sick person who is not on the point of death and supplicates this seven times, Allah will certainly heal him from that sickness.
أَسْأَلَ اللهَ الْعَظِيمَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ العَظِيمِ أَن يَّشْفِيَكَ
As'alullaahal-'Azima Rabbal-'Arshil-'Azimi, an yashfiyaka
I beseech Allah the Great, the Rubb of the Great Throne, to heal youI beseech Allah the Great, the Rubb of the Great Throne, to heal you. (Riyad as-Salihin 906)
Prayer For Pain In Body
The life of the Holy Prophet PBUH is instilled with guidance about health, providing prayer for physical pain. Here is an authentic and effective prayer for pain in the body. Hazrat Ibn Abil-As R.A narrates that he was feeling pain in his body and complained to the Holy Prophet SAW. The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to him: Put your hand on the part of the body that hurts and say Bismillah (بِسْمِ اللَّهِ) three times. Read this prayer seven times;
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ وَقُدْرَتِهِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَجِدُ وَأُحَاذِرُ
A’udhu Billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhir
I seek refuge in Allah and His power from the evil of what I feel and worry about. (Muslim, 2202)
This is a short prayer for someone in pain. You can read it whenever you feel pain in your body or someone suffering from the pain.
Prayer For Someone Sick In Hospital
Taking care of sick and ailing people has high virtue in Islam. The Holy Prophet SAW has taught and encouraged believers to take care of patients and utter prayer for quick recovery. Here is a healing prayer for someone sick in hospital from the life of the beloved Prophet SAW.
Hazrat Ayesha R.A. narrates that when Allah's Messenger (PBUH) visited the sick he would say:
أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ رَبَّ النَّاسِ اشْفِهِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
Lord of the people. remove the disease, cure him, for Thou art the great Curer, there is no cure but through Thine healing Power, which leaves nothing of the disease. (Sahih Muslim 2191)
You can read this dua and pray for someone's healing who is hospitalized and struggling for health.
Prayer Of Healing The Area Of Pain
Sometimes we feel pain in a specific part or area of the body. Our beloved Prophet SAW used to cure the pain by reading prayer of healing and rubbing hands on the area of pain.
The Prophet (PBUH) used to treat some of his wives by passing his right hand over the place of ailment and used to say,
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ الْبَاسَ، اشْفِهِ وَأَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
"O Allah, the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble and heal the patient, for You are the Healer. No healing is of any avail but Yours; healing that will leave behind no ailment." (Muslim, 2191)
