10 Last Surahs Of The Quran With Translation And Summary

Unlike other surahs of the Quran, the 10 last Surahs of the Quran are short and more precise. Along with religious and social responsibilities, the ten surahs shed light on pre Islamic historical events such as the defeat of Abraha. Let’s elaborate these short chapters of the Quran with transliteration, translation and summary.

Surah Fil

This Surah of Quran describes the story of Abraha’s attack on Kaba with elephants and how Allah destroyed them by a flock of Ababeel. Abraha was a christian ruler of Yemen. He tried to attack the Holy Kaaba with his huge army which was composed of hundreds of elephants. But Allah destroyed them through a flock of tiny birds namely Ababeel. The birds appeared with three pebbles in their beaks and dropped them on the elephants and killed them all. In this way Allah protested His house from the enemies.

Have you not seen how your Lord dealt with the People of the Elephant? Has He not turned their plan into nullity? And He sent upon them flying birds in flocks, throwing upon them stones of baked clay,  and thus He turned them into an eaten-up chaff.

Surah Quraish

This sacred Qurani Surah talks about the blessing of Allah on the Quraish tribe, the custodian of Kaba. Quraish is the tribe of the Holy Prophet SAW. This Quran surat teaches us to be grateful to Allah for His blessings.

Because of the familiarity of the Quraish,  that is, their familiarity with the trips of winter and summer, they must worship the Lord of this House, who gave them food against hunger, and gave them security against fear.

Surah Maun

This surah of the Quran highlights the character of those people who claim be Muslims but oblivious of the hereafter. They don't give orphans their due rights. They offer prayers just to show off without giving heed to its objectives.

Have you seen him who denies the Requital? So, he is the one who pushes away the orphan, and does not persuade (others) to feed the needy. So, Woe to those performers of Salah, who are neglectful of their Salah, who (do good only to) show off, and refuse (to give even) small gifts.

Surah Kauthar

The disbeliever of the Makkah celebrated the death of the son of our Holy Prophet SAW. Allah revealed this Quran Surah to calm the Holy Prophet PBUH. Highlights Allah’s blessing on Prophet SAW, asks to offer prayer and promises to grant Him Kauthar, a river in paradise, from which the believers will be served

(O Prophet,) Surely We have given to you Al-Kauthar. So, offer Salah (prayer) to your Lord, and sacrifice. Surely it is your enemy whose traces are cut off.

Surah Kafiroon

This Surah Quran differentiates Islam from the religion of disbelievers, highlighting that they are on their “religion” and Muslims are on their “Deen”. It also warns the disbelievers that their path and practices will not be accepted.

Say, O disbelievers, I do not worship that which you worship, nor do you worship the One whom I worship. And neither I am going to worship that which you have worshipped, nor will you worship the One whom I worship.  For you is your faith, and for me, my faith.

Surah Nasr

This chapter proclaims the victory of Muslims and entering people in Islam in multitudes and commands to praise Allah and seek His forgiveness

(O Prophet,) When there comes Allah‘s help and the Victory,  and you see people entering Allah‘s (approved) religion in multitudes,  then pronounce the purity and praise of your Lord, and seek forgiveness from Him. Surely He is Ever-Relenting.

Surah Masad

This surah of Quran condemns Abu Lahab and his wife who were staunch enemies Islam and Holy Prophet PBUH and highlights their destining in hell. Abu Lahab and his wife never miss an opportunity to agonize with the Holy Prophet PBUH.

Perish the two hands of Abu Lahab, and perish him!  Neither his wealth benefited him, nor what he earned.  He will soon enter a Fire, full of flames,  and his wife as well,__the wicked carrier of firewood.  Around her neck, there is (a collar of iron, like) a well-twisted rope.

Surah Ikhlas

Surah Ikhlas is the summary of the concept of Tawheed. It highlights the unity of Allah and negates any partner associated with Him.

Say, The truth is that Allah is One. Allah is Besought of all, needing none. He neither begot anyone, nor was he begotten. And equal to Him has never been any one.

Surah Falaq

In this Qurani surah, Allah asks the Holy Prophet SAW to seek His protection from all kinds of evils i.e darkness, sorcery, and envier

Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of the daybreak ,from the evil of everything He has created,  and from the evil of the dark night when it penetrates,  and from the evil of the women who blow on the knots,  and from the evil of an envier when he envies.

Surah Naas

Surah Naas is the last surah of Quran. Asks to seek Allah’s refuge from the evils of all human beings and jinns and from inner self and outside forces.
