Surah Nas
“Let’s defend yourselves from all kinds of evils”
Surah Nas is one of the short and last surahs of the Quran. It is included in 4 Qul and holds profound significance for the whole Muslim Ummah. Surah Naas is followed by Surah Falaq and both Surah are collectively called Al-Mu’awwidhatayn (or Al-Mu’awwidzatain) which means “the two verses for seeking refuge”. In Arabic, it is written asلمعوذتين. This term has been taken from Hadith that was Narrated by Aisha (رضي الله عنها),
Whenever Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم) went to bed, he used to blow on his hands while reciting the Mu’awwidhatayn ( i.e. Suratal-Falaq 113 and Surat-an-Nas 114) and then pass his hands over his body.

Reasons Behind Revealing Surat Al Nas
Context Of Suratul Nas (Origin)
When Allah replied to the disbelievers in Surah Kaafirun that they can’t do
After that opposition of disbelievers grew stronger which created the environment of Hatred and Jealousy around the Prophet Muhammad(صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) and the newly converted Muslims. This Hatred and Jealousy led the disbelievers to cast Black magic.
Those were the conditions in which Surat An Naas revealed to save and protect them from all kinds of devil’s whispers, the Black magic of people, and the wickedness of Jinns
Background Of Suratul Nas
When disbelievers realized that they couldn’t refrain Prophet Muhammad (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) from His mission, they started secret discussions to harm Him with black magic.
They use black magic to make Prophet Muhammad(صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) ill or mad or kill Him without showing their identity. They did the wickedness out of their jealousy and hatred for Him because of His prominence as the Prophet.
To protect the Prophet (صَلَّى ٱللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) from evils, Allah revealed Suratul Nas in which it is stated that you can only take refuge in Allah from all kinds of devilish whispers whether they are from Jinn, the Devil, or Mankind.
